The gold "Lunar" of the second series, timed to coincide with the year of the Rooster according to the eastern calendar, is part of the collection of investment coins of the "Lunar Series" issued by the Perth Mint of Australia. The first series of "Lunar" was released from 1996 to 2007, the second - from 2008 to 2019, the third is currently being released and will be completed in 2031.

The size has also changed. 2017 Rooster is one of the most voluminous coins, it has a diameter of 39.34 mm and a thickness of 2.5 mm. For comparison: the instance of the first series was 32.1 mm in diameter.
