Beaufort's Yale is one of the silver investment coins in the Queen's Beasts series. It got its name in honor of the mythical animal, which can be seen on the reverse.
Beaufort's Yale is one of the Queen's beasts who guarded the entrance to Westminster Abbey during Her Majesty's coronation in 1953. This six-foot statue represented history and heritage, and after its image appeared on one of the coins of the Queen's Beasts series.
Description
The coin has a weight of 10 troy ounces (311 g), made of the cleanest silver. The obverse of the money sign depicts the Queen of Great Britain - Elizabeth the Second with a crown on her head. There is an inscription around the portrait denoting the monarch and the face value of the coin. The reverse of the silver coin depicts the mythical beast Yale, as well as metal, weight, silver purity and the year of issue of the coin.
